As we have seen, the Federal and State governments are moving swiftly with extremely strict measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
The Department of Education and Training (DET) continue to clarify the position of education as an essential service. The AWCC, Australian College of Higher Education and Indie School will continue to deliver education and training to our learners and programs within our community. We have an important role within the communities in which we operate to provide an educational service.
This essential role has not changed.
Curriculum Delivery
Our staff are currently focused on continuing to engage our students in the Australian College of Higher Education programs and Indie School via a variety of models that remove the usual face to face component. All learners will be fully supported to make this transition by our coaching and teaching staff.
This means that our facilities will remain operational, but we will have less student activity and attendance on sites. For our facilities to remain open, we ask that any essential visitors required to visit any of the AWCC and Indie School sites to ensure they adhere to the social and physical distancing and hygiene measures that have been put in place.
Our classrooms and sessions will operate in a similar way to how our face to face training has operated – with the focus still directed at meeting the needs of each individual learner.
Staying up to date
Learners, trainers and other key stakeholders of the AWCC have been contacted directly to be informed of the changes that have been put in place. They will be contacted again when these actions or advice changes.
This is an unprecedented global health emergency and the significant measures the Government has announced must be taken very seriously.
We understand that our learners are likely to be concerned and worried, which is absolutely understandable in this time of uncertainty.
